Ellis became Gaultier's voluptuous new muse and soon began to strut her curves on the catwalk alongside wafer-thin supermodels of the '90s like Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Linda Evangelista. Queen is 'Just Wright'

As many of you know, I love the Queen, Queen Latifah that is!  Her new movie, 'Just Wright' comes out May 14th. 

Queen Latifah plays Leslie Wright, a physical therapist who gets a job working with an NBA all-star Scott McKnight, played by Common. Oblivious to McKnight, Wright falls in love with him. Instead, McKnight is drawn to Wright's childhood friend Morgan, played by Paula Patton, who wants to become an NBA trophy wife.

"Just Wright" is the 30th film for Queen Latifah and 10th for Common. As musical artists, Common has released nine albums, his first in 1992, while Queen Latifah has seven albums to her name, her first in 1989 (www.espn.go.com).

I love supporting shows that have women who portray the average American woman with the same issues and insecurities we all have. Brooke Elliott does just that in Drop Dead Diva, on Lifetime.
"Drop Dead Diva" is Lifetime's spirited new comedic drama series that puts a wildly unique and entertaining spin on the complex issues of a woman's identity in today's world.

Queen Latifah on Style Watch

Queen Latifah is turning 40 in March — not that she’s focused on the numbers. “To me as long as you’re young at heart, it really doesn’t matter how old you are,” Latifah tells PEOPLE. “To me, age is really how you feel on the inside.” But with time, she has learned valuable health lessons that she wishes she’d practiced earlier. “I wish I had known more about nutrition and exercise and how really good it could affect you at a younger age. Then I would have kicked it up a lot sooner,” says the Jenny Craig spokesperson, who has kept off the 20-plus pounds she shed using the weight-loss program for almost three years. Nutrition is key: “I don’t really diet. I kind of keep everything in moderation, exercise and eat right. I eat a lot of vegetables and lean meats, and I drink a whole lot of water,” Latifah says, before admitting her weakness: “Mac and cheese…I gotta have it!” Beyond her dedication to staying healthy, the star is also committed to the Haitian relief effort, co-hosting the BET Network’s “SOS Saving Ourselves — Help for Haiti” telethon with Diddy and Pharrell, airing this Friday, February 5 on BET, Centric, MTV and VH1 at 8 P.M. EST. The Procter & Gamble- and Pepsi-sponsored event will benefit charities including Wyclef Jean’s Yéle Haiti. Plus Size Problem in the Media

This past weekend, after I watched Project Runway re-air on Lifetime, I started watching the made for TV movie, 'Lying to be Perfect.' starring Poppy Montgomery. It's about Nola Devlin (Poppy Montgomery) is an unassuming, frumpy magazine editor who is overlooked and teased by her coworkers. When the sun sets, though, and she is behind the glow and anonymity of her computer screen, she becomes the famous and “reclusive” advice columnist Belinda Apple. Nola’s friends, tired of being overworked and overweight, band together to create the “Cinderella Pact,” vowing to lose pounds by following the advice of their “fairy godmother,” Apple. When her secret identity is threatened, Nola is forced to take her own alter ego’s advice. But, as the group of friends drops dress sizes, their real issues are exposed, and better-than-expected life changes begin to blossom. I enjoyed the movie, however, I feel that everytime someone on TV is 'over-weight' or 'plus sized' their characters always seem sad, down, and depressed.

I can vouch, not all women who are not a svelt size 2 are sitting around feeling down and depressed about themselves. What irked me even more is that she was frumpy, wore little make-up, baggy clothes, & had stringy hair when she was bigger, but was well put together when she lost all the weight.

HELLOOO people! (yes, that is said with a very sarcastic, elongated 'O') Why does it seem all larger characters are portrayed this way on television?!

For once I would like to see a character in a TV show or movie who was of a average size, who was actually well put together, confident & a go-getter beside a skinnier counterpart.

I feel this gives viewers a false sense of what women who don't happen to be a size 2 are doing. I can verify on my end, we are well put together, care for our looks, the way we dress and can be very CONFIDENT! So please network execs, next time create a movie that has a more positive character role for someone who is of a larger size!

Curvy Fashionistas Rock the Red Carpet at the Grammy's!

Who watched the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards!? I certainly did! It was exciting to see all the curvy fashionistas rock the red carpet. Celebs such as Jennifer Hudson, Niecy Nash, India Arie, Mandisa, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez and Heidi Klum were looking fierce in their curve hugging stylish designer diggs. My Favorite Season!!

Today was a great day! I spent it with my bestie who was recently engaged. So we chatted about all the details and all the planning to come soon. We are uber excited as our friend will be in from France next week! We can't wait! It will be like old times all over again!

On a further note, my favorite season is here!! I love Award Show Season!! ;D I must say I am a bit addicted to seeing who walks down the red carpet, interviews & the speeches--they get me every time! It's nice to see our favorites recognized and their emotion behind the work they do.

So who do you think will get best dressed tomorrow at the Grammy's!? Queen Latifah always looks amazing to me. She is absolutely a great role model and loves herself, which shows in her confidence and what she wears. She is always a best dressed in my opinion!

Yesterday is History, Tommorrow is a Mystery, Today is the Present, That's Why it's called a Gift.

Where do I begin? I'm new to this blogging world. I guess this can be my diary I was going to start. I guess I will start off by saying what my purpose on here is in the first place.

I thought I would share, discuss, & comment on the industry we consider to be plus size fashion. As a budding entrepreneur and fashion designer specializing in plus size design, I would like to use this as a forum to see what women really are thinking out there in regards to this topic.

I'm sure I will cover some cross over topics that may occur in my life from day to day, such as what it's like to start a business and a fashion business at that. And all the chaos that arises trying to make it all happen.

In an end note, I'd like to dedicate my new found blog beginnings to my late grandparents, Warren (who passed 12 years ago) & Arlene (who passed away 1 year ago around this time). She & my late grandfather were an inspirtation not only to me, but to many others. And while they are no longer with us, their spirit is always near & encouraging. They were mentors, teachers, friends and most of all, giving.
